Captain Geek's Page o' Stuff Friday, September 10, 2004: Okay, this could be interesting. I just applied to be a Pet Trainer at PetSmart. My qualifications? Well, I've gotten plenty of compliments on Annie's behavior from the other dog owers in my complex. And I've never attended a class with her. I just devote time to her. I established who was in charge from day one, but not in an abusive way. I just let her know that certain behaviors were not going to be allowed and that certain behaviors would be greatly rewarded. I don't overstuff her with treats. I just let her know she's a good dog when she does them. It's gotten to a point were certain behaviors are automatic for her. So, by this time next week, I could be helping others have well-trained and loving pets. And the possibility of that makes me feel real good.
